I don't like to rain on anyone's parade, but do you know the lyrics to "Maggie May"?
Cold War Kids - Hospital Beds
Johnny and Santos - Sleepwalker
Frank Sinatra - My Way
Joe Budden - Dear Diary
Those are what are on my playlist as I'm typing this.
*Edit: On second thought, I guess it is still a love song*

TO WENT:::
Wake up maggie i think i got something to say to you It's late september and i really should be back at school I know i keep you amused but i feel i'm being used Oh maggie i couldn't have tried any more You lured me away from home just to save you from being alone You stole my heart and that's what really hurt
The morning sun when it's in your face really shows your age But that don't worry me none in my eyes you're everything I laughed at all of your jokes my love you didn't need to coax Oh, maggie i couldn't have tried any more You lured me away from home, just to save you from being alone You stole my soul and that's a pain i can do without
All i needed was a friend to lend a guiding hand But you turned into a lover and Mother what a lover, you wore me out All you did was wreck my bed And in the morning kick me in the head Oh maggie i couldn't have tried anymore You lured me away from home 'cause you didn't want to be alone You stole my heart i couldn't leave you if i tried
I suppose i could collect my books and get on back to school Or steal my daddy's cue and make a living out of playing pool Or find myself a rock and roll band that needs a helpin' hand Oh maggie i wish i'd never seen your face You made a first-class fool out of me But i'm as blind as a fool can be You stole my heart but i love you anyway
Maggie i wish i'd never seen your face I'll get on back home one of these days
Rod Stewart (you should see him now!)

Count me in on the 70s, 80s faves! I love country too, especially Rascal Flaats and Carrie Underwood. You're right about music as a mood lifter, I always have music playing. I also listen to Christian music and that definitely gets my mood up and my attention on the Lord, who has gotten me through the darkest days of my life with all this tumor ^&%$!!!!!!! ;D

My favorite music is Gospel and country. When I was having my first surgery in 94 and I was there one night by myself in my room wondering if I was going have a life and what was going happen to me God put this song in my heart to comfort me and to let me know I was going be okay. Since then it has been my favorite song and also I have heard other cancer patients say that was their favorite song as well.
(written by Andrae Crouch) (recorded by Andrae Crouch & The Disciples)
Verse 1 I've had many tears and sorrows, I've had questions for tomorrow, there's been times I didn't know right from wrong. But in every situation, God gave me blessed consulation, that my trials come to only make me strong.
Chorus Through it all, through it all, I've learned to trust in Jesus, I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all, through it all, I've learned to depend upon His Word.
Verse 2 I've been to lots of places, I've seen a lot of faces, there's been times I felt so all alone. But in my lonely hours, yes, those precious lonely hours, Jesus lets me know that I was His own
Chorus
Verse 3 I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He brought me through. For if I'd never had a problem, I wouldn't know God could solve them, I'd never know what faith in God could do.

Thanks, Linda. That was lovely. I have a verse that keeps me encouraged: Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." I recite that to myself in the MRI tube or while having a CT scan or when I had a lumbar puncture or evoked potentials done. It has helped me immensely to meditate on Scripture. The song I like right now especially is "Blessed be Your Name". Teresa

At Rehab my first room mate turned up the volume so loud on her TV that the nurses or CNA'S or who ever was close would hurry in and turn it down! I just couldn't take it so I called my husband and he came to the resuce with a CD player and headphones! I'd pop in my favorite Christian tunes, cover my eyes with a cool washcloth and try to relax! It helped! I love 3rd Day, Casting Crowns, Nicole C Mullen, and Phillips, Craig, and Dean. I also enjoy Inspirational Instrumental music...really helped me to fall asleep. Teresa I also enjoy "Blessed be Your Name", another favorite is....OH rats, I can't remember the name of it but it goes something like this:
Surrounded by your presence, what will my heart feel? Will I Dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still? Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall? Will I sing Halleluah, or will I be able to speak at all? I can only imagine....Oh yeah....I can only imagine!
Love it! Blessings to all - Day
