I like Jazz like Diana Krall, George Winston, then I like K.D. Lang, Rufus Wainwright and Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon). It all depends on my mood.

Wow, music is just about the only thing that gets me through. I like it all except the really wild heavy metal...that just makes me want to wallop someone. I grew up on Motown and still love it. I like country. I like the Christian stuff...blessed Be Your Name is one of the songs we sing at my church. I got introduced to Gospel this past year and I like that. We have a local jazz festival and that is great too. I got to see Mercy Me in concert over a year ago and they were awesome. I guess if I had to pick favorites they would be More Love by Smokey and the Miracles, The Real Party by Mary Mary, Fallin' by Alicia Keyes, My Wish by Rascal Flatts, Miss Me Blind by Culture Club. I like it all so it's hard to pick favorites. Rock on, everybody....Cindy

I've got a long list, but my #1 favorite artist is Mark Knopfler (think Dire Straits - but also his new stuff). My husband says I'm a groupie. Also Bob Seger, Elton John, etc... Chris

Hi all, Linda that was beautiful and very inspirational. I sing in the church choir but love a variety of music. I love the 50's,60's & 70"s. I love country. I WOULD LOVE TO SING IN A GOSPEL GROUP BECAUSE THEY GET SO INTO THEIR MUSIC!!!!!!!!
Love Josh Grobin!
My sons think it's funny because my favorite song right now is "4 Minutes by Madonna and Justin Timberlake! :-) Made my son have it played at his wedding and I did my usual bumping and grinding while hanging onto a chair or other people, ha,ha

Barb!!! I too like this song! I first heard it at work one day and didn't realize I was bouncing to it until I heard chuckling all around me. I had that head bob thing goin' on girl!! You gave me my smile for this day,Barb! Every spring a friend of mine puts on a gospel music show. This is the second year I have gone and believe you me those folks do not sit down. How anyone can sit without even their toes twitching I don't know. But it's music you can really feel down in your soul...I guess that's what they mean about the spirit coming over you! Hugs, Cindy

Listening to music is a daily ritual. It is more than a mood setter for me. Music is a passion of mine. I play a little guitar, I play even less base and I try to sing (badly most times). I am also so very thankful that I can still pick up a guitar and attempt to play it, sometimes even standing up for a bit. Actually played out (in 08/2007) for the first time since surgery (in 06/2006). Painful, stressful, yet still a lot of fun.
My musical taste is all over the place like a rooster on acid (which describes mick jagger?). I like metal, hard rock, classic rock, southern rock, blues, motown, bebop, soul and smooth jazz. What I listen to, play or attempt to write strictly depends on how I feel at the time. I'm not all that good - completely self-taught and strictly play by ear. It's about the enjoyment for me, not so much for any sort of accomplishment.
Maybe someday, when I feel the need for public humiliation, I will post some of my/our stuff online.... for your displeasure. It's not like me or we are any good. But I would have to get any contributing member's permission(s). Which might be a problem.
Almost anything by Judas Priest, Clapton, Zappa Iron Maiden, early Metalica, Megadeath, Al Dimeola, War, The Chi-Lites, Dio, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Floyd (dark side of the moon), Santana, ronnie Millsap, Charlie Rich, Satriani, Malmstein, The Scorpions, Dokken, Great White.... I could fill 3 pages of posts. In short, as long as I can feel it.
