Hi All,
Some great news for everyone. SCTA Conference will be taking place in Itasca, IL on July 17-19, 2008 @ Westin Chicago Northwest. July 17th will be meet n greet night with reception from 6:00-9:00 pm. Conference will be on the 18th-19th.
We try to get a Hotel in the downtown area of Chicago but nothing work out for us so this Hotel came to us thanks to one of the Hotel manager sending out an email to the other Hotels properties.
We haven't contacted this Hotel due to we are waiting on Robert to go check it out for us and take some photos. Once he has done this and it looks as good as it does on the Internet I will contact them and have them to write up the contract.
Here is what we know so far.
Special rate of $129.00 for single bed $149.00 double bed plus tax. You can come one day before and stay 2 days after for the same rate providing they have Availabilty at that time.
We have 15 rooms blocked for Thursday & Friday and 10 on Saturday.
Westin partners with the Limousine service and for $23.90 per person they will pick you up at the O'hare Airport and bring you to the Hotel. If you rather take the Taxi Cab I was told that would cost $25.00.
Westin Hotel is about 12 miles West from O'hare Airport. According to the website they say it 27 miles from downtown but I believe on the phone I was told 35 miles I guess it depends on what part of the city your going too.
Registration Fee will be more this time due to the conference costing us more money. $100.00 per person kids will be cheaper but I don't know how much at this time. We will be having 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and afternoon snacks on Fri & Sat.
If you want to go to the City for attractions they do have the Metro Train System close by and on the weekends there is a pass unlimited for $5.00. They also have a family pass as long as there is 1 paying adult 3 kids can ride free.
Westin will take you anywhere for free within 5 miles radius of the Hotel.
They have an Indoor pool and they have another room you can go into to play basketball and racketball and they just started charging this week for this but for $5.00 you can stay as long as you want up to 9:00 pm.
I was told on the phone they do have any kind of Restaurant you could want near by. They also have the Don Shula's Steakhouse and Seafood restaurant at the Hotel. Link to the Hotel.

We are still looking for speakers but I do want everyone to know before you make your plans that Dr. Jallo will be speaking on Saturday afternoon in case you was going leave the conference on Saturday before it was over. We didn't do this on purpose this was Dr. Jallo preference.
I will post the Speakers we know for sure next week and then add to the list as time goes on.
We hope you will decide to come and join us as we celebrate SCTA 5th Anniversary this year. Stay tune for more updates as time goes on.

PS: Please know if you rather stay in the city and come to the conference you can. Also, if this Hotel rate to high for your family you are welcome to find another Hotel and come to the conference but we hope we can get 15 ppl each day so SCTA won't be charge for the rooms we don't get booked. There is no parking fee at this Hotel for those driving in.
