HI there, I am interested to hear what other reply to this. I had a partial resection lat Jan and have had 2 scans 6 months apart showing no growth. My surgeon has scheduled MRI every 12 months now. When I asked him if it was possible that the tumour would never grow... he said no, it will grow. He did say that it may be possible that we don't need to operate again though since it is so slow growing. I am only 36, so we shall see... Another neurosurgeon who my husband knows said that in extremely rare cases, the tumour can disappear (I have a cystic tumour). If it's possible, I will pray for that! That's good news that you have had no growth recently.

I too have a SCT at t11-t12. Surgeon decided he couldn't take it out without "hurting" me. I Had radiation!? It's now been 3 yrs no growth. Had MRIs each 3 mo for a yr now every 6 mo. I have symptoms now....incidental tumor finding...had none then. Take Gabapentin for pain. Pretty much controls pain. Have no feeling in skin between knee and hip. Sometimes when I lie down it feels like someone stabbed me with a knife in thigh muscle! Have a lot of low back pain that may not be connected to SCT. Sometimes back pain is debilitating. I am 72 yr old male.

Hi all, I am a Georgia Tech biomedical engineering researcher investigating within a team improvements to a spinal cage to reduce the overall material in the device and thus help people understand more their status of tumor progression. (With less material in the cage, there is less material to interfere with an MRI image to block tumors.) Please consider filling out our preliminary survey here. User feedback is imperative in the success of our device. goo.gl/forms/AKTB8fgrOK*NOTE* even if your case was not pediatric, we are still interested in hearing from you! Please just fill out the survey anyway, substituting your information for your child's.
