My sister JUST called to tell me her fiance is in the hospital and they found tumors that they know are cancerous all up and down his spine. He is getting ready to go in now to see if it is in his brain.
He had bladder problems for 4 months and just this past week lost all control of his bladder and was falling down.
He is now in the hospital getting morphine as he is in excrutiating pain. They are still doing tests but I am curious at what this all means.
I googled spine cancer and found that with his symptoms it looks like he may not even survive. He is only 26 and they have a new baby.
Tell it to me anyway you need to. I know I am not giving too much info here but this right now is all I know. PLEASE respond. I want to be there when my sister arrives in CA (she is in Indiana right now) to receive whatever news it is....if I think it is going to be bad. So tell it to me straight. Do I need to be there with her or is he fine and will get treatment and survive?? Thank you!!!!!!

unfortunatley, the process has just begun. This is a long road you are going to have to travel with them and for many of us, it never seems to end. Just listen to your sister and you will know in your heart when you need to be there......

My son has been in a battle since March 2005, with spinal tumors. He had to learn to walk again. He was doing great until Nov. 2008 when he had another tumor. Since then we have been through 2 surgeries, radiation and began a clinical trial, chemo and then kicked out of the clinical trial July 29th, 2009, because in 2 months 13 tumors have showed up. Ryan is 26 now. He hasn't been given much hope. I have found a radio surgery treatment you may want to have your sister check into called NOVALIS SHAPED BEAM RADIO-SURGERY. No one ever mentioned this to us I found this on line. There are only 21 of these machines in the country. We have an appointment Aug.17th at MD ANDERSON, Orlando, FL. to find out if we have any hope at all. Please check this out. This is a rare cancer and you need to be proactive and most important do you homework. The doctors don't communicate like they should to help. I am doing everything for my son to fight. I don't want to loose my son. Your brother-in-law is the same age. Take care and God Bless You All. If I can help don't hesitate too e-mail me. Also, have her start a Caring Bridge site. This will help keep your family and friends up to date. They will all know exactly what is going on and what to Pray for......Ryan's is www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryanromandroman55@msn.com Your All In My Thoughts and Prayers, Debbie Roman
