Lately I have been getting tingling sensation going down my thigh. For the last two weeks I have been reaching in my pocket thinking it was my cell phone set on vibrate. It is kind of a low grade pulsating shock or spasm kind of like hitting your funny bone sensation. It comes and goes. Also feels like that feeling when you foot or leg goes to sleep because you cut off the circulation and than you get that rush of blood back in and the tingling feeling lasts for a while. The problem is I have not been cutting the circulation off. It does not matter if I am sitting at my desk at work or standing. The feeling seems to come in waves. Although Standing for long periods is a definite killer. Is this normal? I have not had this feeling on this side of my leg.
After surgery I noticed feeling loss and a stabbing pain on the top of my foot and behind my calf which goes up my leg. I have been stretching and while the feeling loss has never really gone away or the stabbing pain I have gotten used to it. It does appear to be less. When I stretch more it helps everything.
Unfortunately I have not stretched as much as I should.
Should I be concerned about the nerve spasms, muscle twitches that seem to be coming more frequent?

It sounds like you may have some neurological changes going on - but I have some questions for you, as clarification.
1) When did you have surgery?
2) What type of tumor was found, and was it fully resected?
3) Where is/was the tumor located?
4) When was your last MRI, and when will your next one be?
5) You say "lately" you've gotten these changes in frequency - - how long has it been different?
Sorry for all the questions - just trying to get a feel for your status.

Definitely mention it to your Dr or PT. I have just started having a weird itchy, tingling in my lower legs when standing still for a long period. I mentioned it today to my PT and will mention it to my NS in March when I go for 3 month MRI.

Lots of electrical stim feeling buzzing going on in my back without being connected to e-stim.
Is this a good thing? It is aggravating and feels very weird. My incision sight is aching more. I am wondering if lifting my dog and grand baby caused a problem. Will be going for 3 month MRI on the 23rd . I have not done PT in about a week because of company. My head is feeling much too heavy for my shoulders. Wow this is not a positive posting.

About a month ago I started having this tingling-buzzing-electrical-shock sensation in my left leg while walking. It drove me crazy and made the walking even more difficult than it already was. After 2 weeks or so one day it just went away and (keeping my fingers crossed) did not come back. I am slowly getting reconciled to all these strange symptoms-obviously the functioning of different nerves is seriously messed up as the result of the tumor and/or the surgery and there is not much to be done about it. As long as it is not getting worse.... Sophie

Betty - The new symptoms may just be a change in how your body is responding - especially since you missed some PT time. I hope that it is all just a part of the healing process - things sometimes change as a result of the healing of nerves and you may begin feeling things you didn't feel previously. Your MRI is in a week, so at least you will be able to get some answers then. Also, see how things go after you re-start PT.
Braveheart26 - havs the tingling subsided or is it getting worse still? Just curious on an update since it's been over a month since you posted.

I have had the shock sensation going down my leg to my big toe since I woke up from surgery. it doesn't hurt, it feels like a series of quick tugs. my most recent symptom is bugging me quite badly. I have a loss of sensation on the underside of my arm (the hand and upper section of my arm are ok). I woke up 2 nights ago with an itching sensation on the underside of my arm at my wrist and elbow. Scratching doesn't help. It feels like a deep itch. not sure what that is about.

Itching is a form of neuropain. It may or may not get better but I will think that it will subside some. There is some disturbing occurences that happen but all in all you get used to it and learn to ignore it.

thanks. I hadn't thought of that. it's not bothering me anymore at this point but sometimes, I am getting this itch all over my numb side which is also from the chest down on the left side of my body. it's a subtle type of torture to have an itch that can't be scratched.

I was being driven mad by tightness in leg muscles, squeezing, and pins and needles, and I couldn't make any connection between this happening and any exercise I might take or not take. So now I am telling myself that ANY sensation shows that the leg is still alive and trying to let me know it is doing its best, I am now seeing all these infuriating symptoms as changes and developments and signs of LIFE, so even if its an itch that cant be scratched, it is a sign of LIFE. I just had a good tip from a podiatrist, to soak my numb foot in Epsom salts dissolved in hot water for 15 mins daily, this wakes up your blood supply and is a great cleanser and detox. I also have a tube of BIOFREEZE for when the tightness gets tough. We need strategies and active solutions to empower ourselves!
