Went to spine doc yesterday and they put me on a new muscle relaxer since the last 2 i tried had no effect on me except making me sleepy. this one is called Dantrium and i'll start taking it tomorrow. the thing that makes me worried about it is that they want to moniter my liver culture, so i have to have bloodwork done now and then to make sure no liver damage is happening.
Is anyone on Dantrium and does it work for you? If this doesnt work im going to have to have an mri done while sedated to prevent spasms while in the machine. (i kinda like the thought of being sedated in there actually)

Dear "Drummer904", Just curious, but what were the two muscle relaxers you have already tried? I take a low dose of Flexeril, but only at night because it does make me really sleepy. I've just been given Skelaxin to try for the daytime. All the docs say that that one doesn't make you sleepy. I haven't tried it yet. As for getting through MRIs, Valium works well for me: one an hour before the appointment and one while I'm in the waiting room filling out the paperwork. My GP writes the prescription for me to take just for the MRI appointments. (Don't think that the MRI people will provide any drugs for you.) Fortunately, I also found a place where the MRI technicians are super nice and work hard at making me as comfortable as possible. That helps a lot!

The last 2 i tried were baclofen and tizanidine (zanaflexin) which was the one that made me sleepy. i had valium one time before an mri and did the same as you, and didnt feel any difference, i was way super nervous though. i think the main concern is my legs jumping around while laying in there, they can be violent! And yes it does help when the tech's are nice and accomodating.
if this doesnt work, i'll see aboutAmrix. Wonder if ins. pays for it.
