HI everybody, came across this site while researching stem cells. Interesting testimonials from four spinal cord patients. www.xcell-center.com click on patient stories

Great news - that seems really promising for all of us. All of their patient stories are from people who had been paralyzed; it would be interesting to read what sort of results they've had for people with lesser but still major problems - the chronic pain, numbness, and feelings of tightness so many of us have. I've requested their information.
BTW, in order to make the link work, be sure to remove the comma.

I've done some additional research on this company.
They receive very mixed reviews on a well-visited SCI site (I can't remember the URL, but there are over 1,000 posts). Some horror stories, mixed in with testimony from several paraplegics and quadraplegics who have recovered limited function (which is, undeniably, a breakthrough for them) after the stem cell infusion.
My sense was that it's primarily a money-making venture, so I was both pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised when they turned me down as a candidate. I had filled out their medical information form describing all the details of my case pre- and post-surgery. Like many of you, my primary issues now are chronic discomfort, numbness, and loss of proprioception, though I can walk limited distances without any noticeable gait disturbance.
They wrote back that their stem cell procedure is not able to help with chronic pain or loss of proprioception (I was hoping for the first, not expecting the second). I was impressed with their honesty and disappointed with the outcome. I'm not sure I would have followed up anyway, but I would have like to have heard more promise in the potential of stem cell therapy for people like us.
Hopefully the technology will continue to be refined, and in the next few years we'll hear of a more widely accredited facility that will be able to help us.
