I have Ependymomas in both my spine and brain. They aren't 100% sure whether it was in my brain or spine first. I was very shocked to find out I had a spot in my brain after having a "clear" brain MRI 4 years ago. Now they feel like maybe that brain spot could have been there the whole time and not picked up due to its discreet location. I have been stable since they found the brain spot/ reccurrent sprinkling of spinal spots, about a year ago.

Hi Feliciafawn, I am wondering about the grade of your tumour. Grade II are not meant to spread whereas Grade III, like I had are highly likely to spread and hence I was on 3 month full spine/brain scans. I would look at the report on the original tumour to see whether they stuffed up the interpretation. Grade IIIs are rare and mine was not picked up first time.

My most recently biopsied tumor (May 2017) was a grade 2. My tumours are still really slow growing but new ones keep popping up.

Very sorry to hear about the recurrence. Have they given a reason why they keep reappearing? I was told that mine were regrowing but it turned out that they were there all the time but not recognised. Small tumours do not necessarily take up the contrast so do not show clearly on the MRI. Trust your feelings. I felt mine before they could see them.

No, they don't know why. It's just spread throughout my nervous system, I guess I'm just one of the unlucky few.

I have tumors on brain stem and spine. Ependymoma grade 3. Diagnosed in March of 2015. As of January 2019 tumors have not grown. I have been diligent with my diet. Eating an alkaline diet. Mainly fruits and vegetables. Recently have added brown rice and lentils , and oatmeal for breakfast. No sugar, no oil, definitely no meat or dairy products
