Had surgery Apr 2015 for intramedullary ependymoma at T9-T11. Preoperative symptoms were numbness in right leg with occasional soasms. Post operative, was numb in lower back and groin with numbness in right leg. After about 2 months, I got worse. Spasms in both legs. Nerve pain and constriction in both legs. Pain in middle back. Dr says that is normal but I've seen no stories here in which initially one is improved and then gets worse. Anyone else have this experience?
I'm on neurontin for nerve pain and use Extra Strength Tylenol for back pain. Both are largely ineffective and Dr won't give me anything stronger for back pain. My quality of life is for crap. I can barely get through the day just feeding myself and taking care of the house. I'm in too much pain to do things I enjoy like biking and SUP. Do these Drs not realize how debilitating these pains are? It is so frustrating to not get better post operative support once surgeon has done his job.

I slowly got better for 4-6 weeks after my surgery (resection Intramedullary Ependymoma C7-T3) but have been slowly getting worse for the last three months and the doctors have been no help. They just told me I was impatient and that recovery takes time.
