After months of my mother suffering with numbness in her left leg (entirely) and partial numbness on her right my mother was diagnosed with a tumor on her spine at C6. We opted to do surgery - which was done on Monday- after surgery she developed a blood clot and was not able to feel her legs/feet. They went right back in and removed the blood clot. She is now 36 hours out of surgery. She has feeling in her legs & feet though not the same as she does on her arms. She can move her toes on on both feet. She says that her legs feel like they weigh a ton. She is angry and hurting. The blood clot was caused by her blood pressure spiking after surgery (240/something) and blood pressure stability is still an issue. Does anyone else have experience with this type of thing happening? Is it normal for Day #2 to be awful? She won't eat and doesn't want to talk to anyone. She wouldn't even try to move her feet for the Dr. when he came in today - I had to go back to work but my 22 year old daughter was there and said it was like his words went in one ear and out the other. I would appreciate any advice/consolation/words of wisdom that anyone might have!
