Greetings, My name is Danyell and was just diagnosed. I am currently researching surgeons in the New Hampshire or Boston area. Dr. Chi is on my list to set up appointments with. Can you give me a few details on your experience with him?
Thanks!

Welcome to the club, but sorry to hear about your diagnosis! It's a tough diagnosis, but don't panic - many of us do very well after surgery.
Dr. Chi is an amazing neurosurgeon. He is direct but kind. He'll talk to you as if you have a brain (not patronizing baby-talk), but explain things so you know what he's talking about. I like his personal style very much, but more importantly, trust him as a neurosurgeon. One thing you will not have with him is a lot of time. He is extremely busy. If you make an appointment with him, be prepared to wait...and wait...and wait... He is highly sought after, and it shows at appointment time. Bring your list of questions and hand it to him. He will go through each one point by point. Also important: I had an excellent experience in the BWH Neurosurgical ICU. The nurses were outstanding and I felt very well cared for and safe even while heavily drugged and helpless. I would strongly recommend a Boston hospital over a NH hospital. These tumors are rare, so you will want to find a neurosurgeon with as much experience as possible. Where is your tumor?
