Hello to all! I had a schwannoma at the L-4 and L-5 area removed about 2 years ago with great success. Prior to my surgery i was extremely sleep deprived and in the most horrific pain i have ever experienced. While in the hospital having other tests run, i all of the sudden experienced confusion and odd behavior....as i was told by my family. Thank God i have no recall of any of this. The dr later said this was called a conversion disorder from the severity of the pain. I had alot of problems afterwards with my memory. I had to relearn where things were in my apartment, i had trouble with recall, short term memory loss and more. Over time this has improved greatly. My question is has anyone else experienced this sort of problem or anything like it? It still has me very baffled and curious. Thanks and much love to all....we have all walked some miles in each others shoes in one way or another! heather in mississippi!!!!

Hi, I had a 3cm x 1.5 cm removed from T11-12, L1 about 10 months ago. Like you, my memory is muddled? Up until I read your blog I thought that I was just being silly!..... I sometimes can't find things although they are right in front of me! I cannot remember what happened yesterday without being prompted!...and as for last week, well forget about it! Im kind of numb all over (I'm on 600mg of Lyrica a day) and I'm clumbsy too. My sex life sucks and my confidence is down soooo much. I have been left with Cauda equina syndrome and a problem with my conus medularis ( isn't it funny how we now know so much about the spinal cord!) and I have been left a partial paraplegic although I am mobile and "walk" with a stick! Im finding new problems every day now , but the worst for me at least is the damn aching legs and feet that always feel like cauliflower!! They burn so much they drive me mad, but the options are far worse! Im really aware that something is not right with my head and I know I have depression ( and who wouldn't) so I'm up and down all the time! Anyway, that's it a bit briefly, but like you, my mind is both incredibly forgetful but sometimes extremely creative ! Chherrs from DOWNUNDER! Graeme
