3 years ago I had a golf ball size intramedullary grade II tumor removed from within my spinal cord. It left my right side numb, and it is still numb to a point. I am having an MRI on saturday since it has been a year since my last one.
Recently, my right arm has been going numb all the way down to my hand. Writing has become difficult again. A year after the surgery, I had a 3 level fusion to stabilize my neck C3-C6. Is it possible that the tumor has come back? I have read up on it and the odds are low, but still I am worried. Going through this once was bad enough...but twice???
Has anyone had their tumors come back?

what kind of tumor did you have removed before? Sometimes depending on the tumor they can regrow and come back.I am wondering if the fusion can have anything to due with it like maybe a pinched nerve or something on those lines. The mri will tell for sure.Best of luck ,I hope it is not a tumor regrowth...

Wish you luck, hope things turn out well. You can check the CERN foundation for some statistics related to probability of tumor return but I think with the numbers I've seen it'd be impossible to guess one way or the other. There are other things that can cause issues as well, for example I have a cyst (pocket of fluid) in my spine that causes additional neurological issues. Or compression of the spine or pinched nerve like pattyo said. So hang in there.
