Going for surgery to remove Intramedullary Ependymomas at C6 C7. experiencing pain, numbness and weakness in both hands and some in my feet. If surgery is good what amount of pain and what can I expect to recover as far as the hands and feet. Thanks.

Hi Holk. I've got an Intramedullary Ependymoma at my T10-L2. I've gone through surgery but the tumor could not be resected due to nerve involvement in the tumor. It sounds like your case could be different. I do know that the situation varies greatly from person to person and it seems to vary a bit based on the location.
I did a lot better painwise post-surgery, but again he couldn't cut out the tumor. Radiation (caused severe inflammation) actually caused a flare of pain and cyst again for me. I'm still in that phase of recovery dealing with things, 8 months post.
Wish you all the best.
