This is my first post here. This is quite difficult for me so I will try to remain brief.
I have a tumor at c3-c4 region. Most was removed during my initial neurosurgery but all could not due to the attachment to the nerve root. That was five years ago.
I now face the prospect of neurosurgery again, this time to remove the entire nerve root and the remaining tumor. I was told this nerve controls breathing. The outcome does not seem good. I will find out more in mid January.
As caregivers you have been in this situation from the other side. You are on the side of my family. The prospect of them having to take care of me breaks my heart...
Given that I am still here now what can I do to make things easier for them should things not go well? I am making a list of things I think will be useful for them to know. I am listing websites and passwords and instructions on how to do certain things they don't know how to do without me.
I want to make things as easy for them as I can. I want to get anything within my power done for them while I still can. As a caregiver what would you suggest?
Thank you for your time.
