Any other pump people out there? I have a morphine, baclofen, bupivacaine and clonidine pump. I've had bad spasticity in my feet since operation number one. ( 4 major operations, 2 to take out ependys at T7-9, one to clear out MRSA at operation site and the last for a tethered cord/twisted cord at operation site. ) They do work but, to get the right combo of meds can be a big challenge. While you do this you can have some bad reactions or some good pain. The batteries last 5 yrs. and mine recently was at 5 years 3 months so I asked the Dr. to change it now or have the alarm a beeping sound every 10 seconds to go off until they can change it out. My Dr. only does my hospital one day a month so he had no time so I got the other Dr. at Moffitt to do it. Well two days post op I got a redness around the pump which turned into a big infection and redness from side to side on my stomach. They thought it might be MRSA again so they were talking about removing the pump, they putting a cathether in until I did two week of anti-biotics and then put in a new pump and two more weeks of anti-biotics. Not to say I was upset and mad. When Ihad my spinal operation in Aug I went home with some anti-biotics and I was fine but, the pump operation I went home with nothing. The Dr. gave me Dr. talk why he didn't do this. Well I am now on week two of 6 yes 6 weeks of home IV. My advice is to be careful and look at all options before you put anything into your body.

Well thanks for that info, Scott, my neuro doc is suggesting i get one of those pumps for my severe spasms and tone, but that just doesnt sound like a risk i want to take...I hope your situation is getting better.
