Did anyone see Randy Pausch on Primetime last night? Joel, you mentioned him under the thread "Doing Wheelies & Suggestions" last week. Oh my gosh, it was so inspiring! I will definitely be buying his book and watching his entire speech! We should all count our blessings. It made me rethink my situation and brought to the forefront again that it could be so much worse. We have to live each day to the fullest my friends! Life is too short.
I think I'm going to paint polka-dots on my bedroom walls now! ;D

It was such an amazing, sad, but inspirational show last night! Even though Randy is not expected to live much longer, he has such a positive attitude about living. His new book, "The Last Lecture" is his roadmap for living life. I can't wait to read it. You can see excerpts of his segment from TV last night and his real last lecture at Carnegie-Mellon Univ. online (he was a professor there until last fall). Just search on his name. It has definitely changed my outlook on things. Kim--I'm gonna let my KIDS paint polka-dots on their bedroom walls! Joel

I just thought I'd let you all know that I have started reading Randy Pausch's book, and find it very inspiring and entertaining. He is still battling pancreatic cancer, and you can see his daily progress and blogs at: download.srv.cs.cmu.edu/~pausch/You can also access his entire "Last Lecture" on this site. Seeing him do what he does and listening to what he says is amazing. He has such a tremendous, positive attitude about everything, even though he probably will only live a few more months. It reminds me how lucky I am in many respects, and inspires me to keep trying new things, to keep a positive outlook, and generally to make the best of my situation. It indeed could be a lot worse. Hi everyone, I happened to see Randy also and went to Barnes and Nobles the day after. It was no surprise that the book was sold out. The girl told me to come back in a couple of weeks. Thanks Joel, I will look it up online. Barb

Joel, I loved Randy Pausch's lecture on time management. It is on the same page as the link you gave. He says everything in 90 minutes that took me years to read in books. Thank you for introducing me to this person. I read his whole blog on his illness. He is inspiring. I need to buy his book. Teresa

Actually, his book is available at Amazon. I would just buy it there instead of waiting for the local bookstore to get it. I really like the book. Oh yeah, already said that. Joel

Thank you for the link Joel. It just reminds me of the big question, 'why do these things happen to good people on this earth?'. He is a man who has everything to live for and it is a crying shame he has to die so young with three beautiful children he can't raise.
I am glad he feels able to share his situation with others to raise awareness and make a difference. He has a very personal struggle ahead of him.
