Since I was starting the thread about riding horses, it occured to me to ask if any of you have thought of trying therapeutic riding for balance and muscle coordination? My sister runs a very successful program in New Jersey and I've heard nothing but great things about how ther. riding can help those with balance and coordination issues. I wish there was a program where I live, but there's not. So, if any of you have the opportunity to explore this as a recovery tool, I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

Tsmagio: What kind of riding do you do? How many horses do you have? We have two, one who's 8 and one who is 30. I've been riding since I was 14 and it's my therapy for sure! So, not being able to ride right now is absolutly killing me! But, as soon as I am able to get off of this blood thinner I'm on and my stupid quadricep muscle heals, I am riding for sure!

Well, mostly western. We have two quarter horses. One 14 and one 16. I have been riding for a long time working farms and cows mostly. Horses are great animals that deserve alot of respect.
