Dear SCTA Parents: SCTA could use your help. What type of topics would you like to have at the conference just for you? The way the conference is going we will have only Friday set aside for the Parents in the group. As far as Saturday goes it going be fill up with speakers and topics that I believe will benefit everyone in the group so we will keep everyone together. So please post on here or e-mail me at sctassociation@yahoo.com Dr. Jallo will not be available to speak to the parents alone this time but he will be speaking to the entire group on Saturday afternoon. There is a Children's Hospital in Chicago that we may be able to use for speakers. www.uchicagokidshospital.org/specialties/cancer/brain-spinal/index.html Thanks for your help! ~Linda

Hello,
I am a new parent to this forum and was interested in the upcoming conference. I think a good topic for parents is maybe having some physical therapists to talk about problems with the spine after surgery and longterm effects. My child is 7 years old and is now symptomatic from surgery 3 years ago. He is now in PT and has a lot of issues including kyphosis, lordosis, one leg longer than the other, one foot is inward, etc. These issues were never addressed in the beginning and I never asked about any therapy after surgery. So now we are playing catch up with his back and retraining him to sit straight up. Anyway just thought I would throw that idea out there and see what you thought.
