Announcing the 2008 Conference

Hi all,

SCTA is proud to announce the 2008 conference in Itasca, IL July 17th-19th. We have all of the speakers set up and you can start making your plans to attend . You can see this by clicking on www.spinalcordtumor.org then look for the conference announcment.

You can start now making your reservation at the Westin Chicago Northwest Hotel in Itasca, Hotel. 1-888-627-8510 Indentify yourself as members of the Spinal Cord Tumor Association to receive the group rate.

Rate: $129.00 plus 11% state tax for single bed. $149.00 plus tax double beds, Suite $229.00 plus tax. All rooms included in the room block required one night deposit by guest.

Reservations cut off date is June 17, 2008 at 5:00 pm CDT.

We will get all of this info on the conference page in a few days.

Also, we will be making some changes to the scheldue as the speakers get back with me on the title of their topic so keep checking back.

Liz and I just went up to WestChester, PA as my wife was getting an award for her contributions to the college and her success in business. It was my first airplane ride in over 2 years ( and the ones before that were only 1 hour from Tampa to Biloxi, MS ). I was afraid I wouldn't be able to make it with the back pain and my pain pump but, all went pretty well. I did have the hotel bed with super hard springs ( We even went all out and got a suite ). We are going to try to see if my parents could watch Stephanie and we could come up to Chicago. I haven't seen anyone since the conference I went to in 2002 which was previous to my pain pump and 3 of my 4 surgeries. I'd love to see you and everyone else if I could. Just talking to people who have gone through some of the things I have is always a great motivator. Hope to see you there.

Hi Scott,

I hope it works out for you and Liz to come to the conference. It will be great to see you again. Also, I think Liz will enjoy the conference especially the Caregiver's session. I have been chatting back and forth with Nancy this is Valerie's sister from our group and she got some great ways she going present this and everyone at the conference going get to hear her presentation.

Glad to hear your plane ride went well for you. I have heard these beds at Westin Hotels are very comfortable so that should be a big help to all of that has bad backs.

I hope to see you in July.
