Hey all! well I am finally leaving Iraq, hoooora. 14 months and a lot of crazy times is almost over. in about 10 days I'll be home again with my family enjoying real food, a real bed, and the comforts of home, Mission Accomplished. I know i haven't posted a lot but i have read the site most frequently and everyone here still inspires me to keep fighting and staying on my own two feet. after all my body has gone through this past 14 months i can honestly say I have challenged this disease to the maximum and won, I only hope what i was able to accomplish can inspire some who feel that this disease has ended their normal life to keep fighting and not give in to the psychological effect of this disease. I truly believe that each of us have the ability to continue our lives as normal as possible even though we know we were not. This Disease has made me stronger mentally and that is how i believe we can defeat it. Thanks to everyone here who kept motivating me through this year, and I look forward to just walking on grass with my bare feet and enjoying some coffee with my loving wife and see my daughter who just celebrated her 15 birthday and the second birthday while i was away. Richard

Richard -
First of all Thank You for your service. It means a lot to me.
And in addition, thanks for your positive approach to your situation and your willingness to take on your disease head-on.
You've truly been fighting two battles - and I'm glad to see you've prevailed. You are truly an inspiration.
When are you coming to DC? Let me know when you'll be at WRAMC so we can hopefully meet. As it stands, I've got 3 appointments there in April...
Again, thanks for everything you've done and continue to do.
Chris

Richard - That is such good news! I'm thankful you made it through all the challenges. If you had ruby red shoes you could click those heels together and say "I want to go HOME". I know your family will be thrilled to have you back.

WOW!!!! First off, THANK YOU SIR for your dedicated service to our country. I think it's just, well, WOW! that you were able to do this. It's awesome. I know you're anxious to get home and readjust to a more civilian life. You deserve it and much more. I bet the wife and child are also anxious for you to get home. Let us know how things go. YOU ROCK!

Hi Richard,
I am so happy you are leaving Iraq in a few days. I know this will be a happy time for you and your family. You are a survivor in many ways and we all are happy for you and thank you for your service. When you retired in a few years you should write a book about your journey I know everyone in the group would buy a book.
Take care, and God bless.
~Linda
