Dear expert ,I have i have an intramedullary lesion measuring 80 *15 mm composing of both cystic and solid components is seen from T10 to T12 level. solid is 22 *10 mm and is situated poosterior tp T10 vetebral body . Iwant to know that is this measures dangerous ? what kind of treatment is suitable for this tumor? finally want to know howmuch i can hopefull to be alive after the treatment?

I don't know if we are experts as much as people who are surviving spinal cord tumor. Have you seen a neurosurgeon yet? I think the first step would be to find a qualified surgeon near you. Do you have an academic medical center near you? That might be a good place to start. They can tell you what the tumor is likely to be (but they won't know for sure until it is removed and sent to pathology). The surgeon should also be able to give you an idea of what your post-surgery course will be like. I had a large cystic lesion at C2 with severe cord compression. My tumor turned out to be a hemangioblastoma,but other kinds of tumors can cause cystic changes. My cyst resolved after my tumor was removed. I am not perfect, I still have pain and numbness, but I am able to work full-tiime and have resumed part of my previous life. Keep us posted as you move through the process.
