I have been having a "vibration" feeling in my right arm and left leg lately. I have had the pins and needles in my arms and legs for years but this is different. It feels like when they hold a tuning fork next to your body. It's not painful. Wondering if anyone else has had this weird sensation and if so, is it a warning sign? Or just another weird sensation in the body.
These centrally located tumors wreak havoc with sensations, don't they?

I posed the question to my medical team and here is their response:

Your symptoms are not unsual considering the location of your tumor. Does this occur sporadically or in certain positions? Such as with extension or flexion of Your head? This generally means that a space occupying lesion can put pressure on the nerves. When this occurs w/ mvmt it is called Llermitte's symptoms. It will be importAnt to know if there has been any growth.

Typo - it is Lhermitte's sign.

I have that feeling too. It's hard to describe. It was more frequent in my first year post surgery when i was in very poor condition due to the recent trauma to my cord. I still get it, especially after a long day. However, since its something new for you I would definitely get it checked out. I guess the question is if this new symptom means you should move forward with treatment. Especially since your pre-op state is an important indicator for your post-op state. In my opinion, and I am not a medical doctor, it means something is progressing or getting compressed or damaged.

Interesting. If you don't mind, would you tell us a bit more about your surgery - how did you make the decision to go ahead with it? How are you post surgery vs pre surgery? etc.
I appreciate it and I'm sure others will as well. And yes, the question is always "Does this mean it's time to have surgery?" I don't know the answer. My next check in is in 2 months - for now I will live with it and discuss at my next appointment. The buzzing continues - nearly all the time now in some random part of my leg or arm. Weird.

I have a L3 tumor that is 13x12x13 mm I had a experience a year ago after someone slammed into my car. I had parathesis not sure of the spelling. I was just walking when my legs felt lke they were on fire. It lasted 10 minutes at least that's how it felt. I had that happen on 4 other occasions . Then never again. I have numbness in my feet have had electrical feelings once on bottom. The bottom of my feet feel like wax paper. The orginial surgeon told me he would not touch the tumor a year ago. This year I decided to go to 2 more NS. One at UM who is a spnal specialist. The surgry would be done at Jckson Memorial.I have never had to take anything for pain buy iuprophen. Sometimes go all week with out that. The Dr, ordered new MRI and scan and more xrays. Since then Im having weird sensations in my legs. At night sometimes they can burn, We are getting ready to schedule surgery. He said my spinal roots were half way through my cord. very scared. This dimension of the tumor was smaller lst year. In 6 years the tumor has grown 4mm. I would tell anyone now when first been diagnoised just do it if you have some symptoms. I am 71 almost 72. Please pray for me.
