When they did my first MRI, I had not one but two Ependymomas. A larger one in my lower thoracic and a smaller one in my upper thoracic (both completely resected.) Has anyone else had two tumors at the same time? They also found a "seeding" evidence of cells in my lower spinal cord so I underwent full spine radiation as well.

Hi feleciafawn--I had a hemangioma removed July, 2013 from C2/C3 (cervical)....when my doctor requested an MRI for my entire spine, he found two small tumors located in the caude equina in the lumbar area. Although the hemangioma was removed it left me with numbness in the right side of the back of my head, side and jaw area. I recently started pelvic physical therapy, I'm scheduled for a urodynamic study this Tuesday and will have another MRI and go to a new doctor specializing in the lumbar area in March.

hello Felicia,
I have 2 tumor in my nerves system, one at T10-T11 and one at brain (tectal glioma). Just want to ask you : ?. One of my doctors which I visited yesterday told me that the pain will not surely disappear after surgery, he was against surgery, and other docs was with idea to do surgery. Two famous doctors told my ependymoma is easy to be resected and the pain will disappear after surgery since the pressure caused by tumor will be released My pain is high when I am sitting position and will disappear when sleeping or standing. Specially my hips (sciatica) Can you tell me about your pain pre and post surgery. Can any one tell about pain after surgery on this forum....
thanks

I had 2 intermedullary ependymomas both separate from each other, which I was told was extremely rare. They were located at the C2-C6 and T3-T4 levels. Both were removed 6 months apart. Left me with a lot nerve damage, spasms and other issues. It has been 5 years since the second surgery and the feelings have not gotten any better. Everyday there is something different going on with me. There is a spot at the T3-T4 level the doctors continue to keep a close eye on...it's been there since the surgery. Luckily, it has not changed shape/size so the doctor is not to concerned at this time.

So I am not the only one! Haha. Did they also do radiation? I am glad to hear your tumors have not returned. It's been about a year since my second surgery and I have another MRI coming up in a week. The 6 month post surgery MRI looked good but it's so nerve wracking.
