I'm happy to report that I started Lyrica 1 month ago and the numbness and burning in my hands and feet is gone. I am still playing around with the dose to get consistent pain control. Currently I am taking 25 mg four time daily. Also taking Celebrex 200 mg in the morning. If I go longer than 4 hours without taking a Lyrica the burning returns. It is doing a pretty good job at controlling the pain across the back of my head as well. (fyi - I have intramedullary tumor at C1-C2).
I was told side effects would be sedation, poor balance and blurred vision. Luckily I am not experiencing any of those. Quite the opposite actually. I am lucky.
I am now back at work part time and enjoying my life again! Pain free is amazing. When the pain returns I am in awe of how much pain I lived with before. We are all brave.

Thank you. I dearly wish a break from the pain for you and everyone living with these troublesome tumors. I continue to have good control of the burning in extremities, but the head pain is persistent. They are recommending increasing the Lyrica dose which I am willing to try, but it makes me feel jittery, like I've had too much coffee. Overall I'm very happy with the Lyrica. So much more enjoyment in life without the constant burning and weird feelings in my arms and legs. I had to fight the insurance company for coverage but I won, thank goodness!

10 yrs intermedulary ependemoma resection c2-t2, Lyrica has worked the best in combination with cybolta replacement for methadone.

Glad to hear you have a med combo that has replaced methadone. I would be curious to know more about how your life has changed since having the tumor removed.
