How fast do grade II Ependymomas grow? I once heard around an inch a year. Any info on that? All I know is they are "slow growing"...but what is slow growing really? Haha. Damn tumors.

Hmm an inch per year seems very fast..
I was told the same "very slow", but fact is that they are so rare not enough is known.
My ependymoma was giving me issues some 15 years ago, take into consideration the amount it grew before it started affecting me, my tumor was 10 cm long, so let's say it took 20-30 years to grow 10 cm, that's about 0.3 cm or 30mm per year.
This is all speculation of course.

Yeah, I thought the same thing! I wish I could remember where I got that info from.

my husbands was the size of a jolly rancher candy which is about 1 inch. the doc said he belives he had it about 2 1/2 years. so that would be about 1/3 inch a year.

Mine was the size of my pinky finger, and I had symptoms for 3.5 years. But it could have been there longer than that.

I don't think there is a general rule. If you're younger, everything grows faster including tumours. Maybe metabolism is also a factor. I think so little is known about SCTs generally that no one can say for sure exactly how many inches or centimeters it will grow. They said I could have been born with mine [though I dont believe this]. And mine is also 'slow-growing'. Even if that's vague, I would rather hear those words than 'aggressive stage 4'. Good luck!
