Hi Steve,
It does get better. I am much stronger now and have confidence in crowds again. I have not been on this site for a long time but got an email saying their was action on my post.I am much calmer too I think.
My only conflicts of late have been with the elderly: with them thinking they are entitled to seats on buses and things. Soit I am feeling strong I yield but otherwise I am assertive and state that I need it too.
And with the thugs I have learned to ignore them. I know I am a survivor and stripes in my heart and soul and don't need to prove a thing.
I did get a bit angry today with this old bloke. I was walking behind me and I stepped on his shoes. Not sure if it was my misstep or his but I apologized and then he had a go about tripping and old man over and watch where you are going. I apologised again but he wouldn't let up and I felt the old rage starting but somehow I let it go.
Once that tumour is out you can get stronger. I don't believe that these things are sent to make us better people but I do think that you should try and learn from it. So for me it is to accept and not fight.
Hope that is some help.

This message is for Steve
The UK NHS is ridiculous ; I had terrible treatment and spent months worrying with no information. I had an excellent GP. I have since moved to France where the care is excellent " however you should ask your GP fir a referral to Manchester Hospjtal as they have specialist Schwannoma clinics . They will be best placed to treat you and help fill in the information gaps and make you feel more in control. X

Cryola, may I suggest you get yourself a good sturdy walking stick to fend of anyone who gives you grief! I'm a nurse and when I was fit and working I once looked after a little old lady with a broken leg! She had dementia and every time I walked past her bed she would take a swipe at me with her leg which was in a cast! I think we all need to channel a little bit of old lady zen! Nothing wrong with being a little crazy in times like this!
Stay Positive!

Cyrola,
Good to see you came back, I know how you feel! I was an Army Officer in a Brigade Combat Team. Lost my career an everything. I did karate, maxed my physical fitness test and so on. I was 26 years old when they found the tumor. I still have my tumor, its been watch and wait for 3 years but I am getting tired of it. I noticed you said you got stronger once it is out. I wonder if getting it taken out might help me in the long run. Did you have an ependymoma? Glad to see that you are doing better, that is great!
