I have had mild pain 24/7 (1-4 scale) in my lower right abdomen and side and right lower back since January 2012. My T 7-8 surgery was Oct 2011 and cyberknife radiation Dec 2011. My PT doc wrote a script for amitriptyline (cheap generic anti-depressant) and I have been taking for about 5 weeks now with no real pain help. He wanted me to take 100mg daily and I went back to 50mg since I was having bed wetting accidents, and seems to have helped the accidents but no real pain relief again. Going to discuss with him on Sept 28 appt. I take 2 generic ibuprophen in AM after breakfast and either generic tylenol or aspirin in evening after dinner. I use ice packs several times daily and ice does help. I think some of my daily pain is a result of what position I sleep most of the night. Start on back, then right side, then stomach etc. This 24x7 pain is frustrating and I cannot sit in my PC chair for more than 90 minutes before I need to stand and stretch out my legs etc. I would like to get back to full time work this fall but I am not sure how I could deal with this pain issue from 8-6 or so. Just frustrating. I see my cyberknife doc Sept 7 and going to ask him if cyberkknife treatment might have caused my pain issue? Anybody else with any comments etc? Gary

Started cymbalta at the suggestion of a neurosurgeon who specializes in Surgical pain mgt. I was not a candidate due to the high location of my tumor, but he suggested cymbalta. I am no on 60 mg/d and it seems to help with my deep forearem nerve pain. Nothing for my hand pain though. Tried some geb" Valium the other day and it seemed to help, but not this week. There seem to be many different kinds of pain, keep trying is all we can do. It can wear you down, I know.
