Dr. Aksamit was my neurologist at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is wonderful.
Unfortunately I never met my surgeon face-to-face, but the resident I dealt with was excellent. However, he was in the last 2 days of his 7-year residency! I do think, though, that the doctors at Mayo are all very, very good. They also have the special operating tables and equipment for the delicate surgery to remove a spinal cord tumor. You do feel a bit like you're in a mill (i.e., waiting in the hall outside the MRI machines for your turn) at times, but you will get thorough medical care at an expert level.
