Hi All,
Just to introduce myself. I am currently twenty three years old and I had my first intramedullary spinal cord tumor surgery about five years ago at the age of 18. It all started with very bad back pain. MRI results showed a tumor inside the Spinal Cord. After surgery, I went through the long recovery period that I am sure many you went through as well and was so fortunate to get through it without any issues other than loss of sensation in legs. They were not able to remove the entire tumor and only removed alll that they could safely.
Over the past 6 moths, I have started to have a lot of difficulty walking and balance issues. I finally have surgery set up for this Monday and am very nervous about going into my second surgery. A part of me feels like the first was so much easier because I did not know what to expect going into it.

My thoughts are with you. My brother was your age when he first was diagnosed. There's strength that comes with youth. Be strong.

I hope your second surgery went well. My husband had his first 10 Years ago. We think he has another Ependymoma or syrinx...so we may be looking at another surgery.
