Julie, That is something that you do at Yoga also... I have been going (twice now) The good thing about the yoga I am going to is that I know and my instructor knows I can not do everything she is asking but I do get a lot out of it as far as breathing and relaxing...yes and some stretching.
I would love it if I could get someone from the Mary Free Bed Pain Center to talk to us.... I think we could all use a little or a lot of what they have to offer.... I am sure there are other places around like them.

Hi Betty -
With your PT benefits running out, I would suggest using the last few visits to have them get you on a home plan. What exercises can they advise you to do at home on a continuing basis to help with the strength? You don't have to have the fanciest equipment - sometimes a few free weights and/or the thera-bands (which I bought mine from the PT) will suffice. Tell them what you want help with - - not just what they think you need help with! If they are any good they will listen.

There's no doubt stress can cause your pain to be worse and for that matter make every other little thing that goes wrong, worse. The key is to remain focused with a positive attitude regardless of how hard things get. Now we've all been through a very tough thing, so when things go wrong in our everyday lives, we should realize that they're not so bad compared to what we've already endured!
Stay positive and know that every little challenge and 'stressful' situation that comes up, only makes you stronger in the end. When it's over with and the good days come back, you'll appreciate those good days that much more!

All this advice is good. I know I am lazy about my home exercises. I will have a plan and I have therabands, foam roll, big ball, litte ball, and pool work. I'd like to hide in your gym bag Beth and hang out at Mary Free Bed. Betty

Betty, there is little I do at Mary Free Bed I could not do at home! But I do find having someone to make sure I am doing what I need to be doing helps me! I am going to miss the place when they are done with me...... They did say I can go back if I feel the need... I have now been two weeks with out a headache! I do have to say that is a life changing thing for me!!
Take it one day at a time and give yourself 10 min three times a day to do some kind of exercise and see what that does for you. I am sure with all you mentioned you have you can do it! You should start a post for us and let us know how it helps and what you are doing! We Care!!! And what helps you may help someone else here!

You know... I truly feel as if stress definitely makes my symptoms worse. When I was diagnosed I was under so much extreme stress at work that my lower back pain and other symptoms went out the roof... hence my trip to the ER. Thinking back over the past couple years, before I knew that I had a tumor, the times I did experience my symptoms were when I was super stressed.
Since my surgery and diagnosis, I have definitely noticed that I will experience my pre-surgery pain during times when I am faced with super stressful situations.
I was a workaholic in a high demanding sales job for 3+ years - I wish there were a way to prove that my condition was work related... especially since my symptoms started after working in the position I had for the company I had.
Who knows... I do know now that when I return to work, it will be in a position that does not produce so much stress and anxiety for me.

When I am stressed all of my chronic pains and diseases escalate, I can't explain that, but seems like my mom have the same symptoms. Somehow I can cope with it thanks to cbd vape and cbd cartridge , but mental health and strong nerves are really basis of my well-being.
