Hi everyone, My husband, I and the dogs went camping this weekend We have a small hardsided camper which has a bathroom etc., making it easy for me to camp. I got one free day at the campsite because I have what is called the Access pass in NYS. I know that you can also get one for Federal parks and attractions. Besides getting close parking because of the handicap sticker and sometimes free admission into the fair and front row seating on airplanes and at concerts and go to the front of the line in airports, does anyone know of any other "fringe benefits of being handicaped? I'm not one to take advantage of the system ,by any means, but with the all the emotional, and I MEAN EMOTIONAL crap that I had to go through in the past 5 years of having my body and normal walking taken away from me, I was just wodering if there are any little rays of sunshine about this whole thing. Geez I didn't even know you could get all the stuff you said for lower price or free. I just have a handicap card for the car. I live in Oregon so I don't know what they have here let alone New York, Good luck in finding more perks. So many here don't even use their handicap sticker that it makes me feel guilty that I use mine but I do anyway! Good luck Vickie

While in Chicago at the conference my sister and I stayed for an extra day to take in Wicked...when I checked on line the tickets for the main floor were in excess of $110. Calling the number to arrange for accessible seating lowers it to the lowest price for that level, and same pricing for one other person, resulting in us sitting third row right in front of the stage for $90 per person. I cannot complain, the benefits are alright, but not worth the cost. As OT Jen's picture at the conference showed "I am in it for the parking".
