Well it was an amazing adventure. I am still on information overload from the conference, but enjoyed every single minute of it. Great job to all who organized and participated in the conference. I feel enriched with meeting so many amazing people.
I am glad that we stayed the extra day and saw the musical Wicked it was fabulous. Sometimes the wheelchair is a benefit as I got discount tickets for my sister and I and we were third row. We laughed, we cried I can't say enough good things about the production. Chicago is beautiful and there was no rain on the Sunday, just beautiful sunny weather.
Now for the trip back....our 11 hour car ride that we expanded to almost 18 hours. The road is paved with good intentions....even the interstate. We planned our schedule around a little shopping so we hit a mall and then an outlet mall which was intended last for a couple hours which we expanded to a 6 hour shopping trip OOPS. Consequently we drove through the night finally arriving in Thunder Bay at around 4:30 am, safe and sound. As for deer on the road, we saw some, but I believe the loud, and admittedly bad, singing along with the IPOD kept them at a safe distance from our car. I can only imagine the stories they had for their peers in the forest.
Anyway we are back home, safe, a little tired, but completely enriched from our experiences in Chicago. My hat's off to the SCTA. I speak for my sister as well.
