I would also add that you get an aisle seat--this way you can stretch your legs into the aisle, and it also makes it easy to get up every hour or so to walk around and go to the bathroom.
2 surgeries--1st 1996, guy couldn't find it. 2nd was Jallo, in 2004; he got it all, C2-C4; probably astrocytoma; but also got a nasty staph infection, requiring another surgery. Holding my own.
