Hi Karen...Yep, it is me with the breast cancer. I had the lumpectomy and radiation. Now I am taking a pill every day for 5 years and they are watching me to make sure nothing else comes around. I did not have chemo and they will not do it unless something comes back again. The one thing I did have is fatigue on top of the regular fatigue I have with the SCT aftermath. If you have questions just email me and maybe I can answer or steer you somewhere. I am still in the stage where we aren't quite sure what is going on wiht my body, so I can't tell you too much about nerve issues. I did notice that with getting radiation every day for 7 weeks, my legs just felt so heavy and clumsy. But that could have been due to the fatigue associated with it. Please post again with some more info as to what stage you are and what all is being done. A big hug to a fellow survivor!! If you got through the SCT you can get through ANYTHING!!! Hugs, Cindy

CINDYLEE,
I SEE THE SURGEON ON TUES. WHEN THEY DO THE BIOPSY. I ALSO WENT THRU RADIATION AFTER MY 1ST SCT SURGERY ONLY DID BIOPSY. THE RADIATION AFFECTED MY LEGS THE SAME WAY. MY 2ND SURGERY WAS BY DR EPSTEIN IN N.Y. HE GOT IT ALL. BUT BY THAT TIME I WAS BEDRIDDEN USING A WHEELCHAIR. I,M JUST CONCERNED ABOUT CHEMO AND NEEDING TO GET A TEMP RAMP OR STAIR GUIDE BUT YOU MAKE THESE CALLS AND THEY TAKE THEIR TIME GETTING BACK TO YOU. IT'S VERY FRUSTRATING SINCE I NEED IT ASAP!
THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY. I WILL EMAIL YOU MORE WHEN I KNOW MORE.

Karen, are you able to walk now with a walker or are you in a wheelchair? I know how it is to be waiting. And if you are not very mobile, that is doubly hard. I had a biopsy one week and surgery for the cancer the next week. One group you may want to check out...the American Cancer Society Survivor Network. They have boards similar to this one where you can post things and talk with others going through what you are. I found it to be great for when I took care of my Mom and just as good for the breast cancer board. They also have a lot of suggestion there. And if you call the national number they can maybe answer some of your concerns. Take car and stay in touch...Cindy

I USE A WALKER INSIDE MY HOME AND FOR SHORT DISTANCES OUTSIDE MY HOME. LONG DISTANCES I USE A WHEELCHAIR. WE'RE LOOKING INTO A RAMP FOR THE FRONT DOOR AND A STAIR GUIDE TO GET TO OUR GARAGE. I FEEL I'LL NEED THESE DUE TO TREATMENT. I SEE THE SURGEON TOMORROW SO I'LL KNOW MORE. DR JALLO GOT BACK TO ME ABOUT THE CHEMO EFFECT ON THE SCT & SAID IT SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. THANKS FOR THE INFO. I'LL KEEP YOU INFORMED.
WAS YOUR TUMOR RESECTED?
KAREN A
