Okay, I have been doing a little analysis on myself and have found the following. When I wear shorts I am good to move around rather well. However, when I go to work wearing dress pants and shoes it is definitely a different feeling. Does anyone else notice this happening. Some days I wish I could just wear shorts to work all year around.

Tony:
I can tell you that over the past (coming up on three years) my wardrobe has become very "function" oriented. Somethings have been major changes. I have a home office now because downtown is just too unfriendly for me, I have tried to have as many meetings as I can at home or at a location that I can drive-up to. So I wear casual clothes now (never more than blue jeans and blue blazer with comfortable shoes. I used to be a downtown guy and I miss it but not enough to deal with dressing up and crowds and tough parking.
I also wear shorts most days (not too many days in Seattle where it is so cold you can't wear shorts) with running shoes. By now most people know that my casual attire is because of real comfort issues. Even with all of that there are days I still need to wear a suit and when I do I can't wait to get home and change into comfort clothes. And I do make sure to push myself occasionally so so that my wife doesn't feel too limited.
I love summer because everything aligns to make life easier. I love the feel of summer breezes on my skin and we are fast approaching that time (still pretty cold here in Seattle).

Tony, my whole first year was like this. I wore shorts in the house and sweat pants everywhere else including work. When I had to wear jeans it felt like they were rubbing against every nerve in my legs. This gradually eased up for me. I am not able to wear any kind of really dressy shoes. I do best in sneaks. In fact, it is very hard for me to walk barefoot or in socks alone, I am numb and sensitive at the same time! Cindy

Yeah clothing in general is a drag, but as my wife keeps telling me, "I don't care if it feels good to walk around naked, you've got to quit scaring the neighbors!" So, our burden is to grin and bear it (not bare, mind you). In my case, my shoes always hurt, my pants keep falling off because if I don't hike them way up around my chest and over my fat belly, then there is nothing to hold them up, and my shirts irritate my neck and shoulders. So, it's back to either going naked and risk being shot as a pervert, or wear uncomfortable clothing and try not to look too much like Ralph Cramden. Still debating the choices.

Me too, having problems with wearing pants! I try to wear capri pants, but the bottoms rub my shins and it makes my legs feel so huge and heavy. Jeans? Oh, forget it, it's even worse. I have gotten used to wearing some unusual outfits to church and all my fellow Christians there understand and support me to no end. I wear shorts, but the wind and any change in temp. affects my legs and makes them feel heavy and slow. My only real problem with that is, it makes me soooooooooooo tired and out of breath, like I've just walked a marathon, when I've hardly walked any distance at all. I try "mind over matter", but it's kind of hard to do that when it really is there, and IS sensory. I hate it when I think everyone thinks I'm just out of shape or something. I am working out and trying to strengthen my legs. I'm not heavy at all, I'm only 115 lbs., but I FEEL like I weight a ton. Sooooooooooooooooooo, I can understand everyone else on here who says wearing pants is difficult.

Well, so there it is we all have this problem with our legs getting to much stimulation. I am okay at work. I have a nice comfy chair and have a giant desk. When I am working I kick off the dress shoes and wear slippers and we I leave out of my office I just slip the other shoes back on. My legs never feel heavy at all. I guess I got lucky on that part but man on man I hate when then get irritated.
Thanks for the replies, Tony

Tony, I live and Fl. and Thank God for that. I cannot stand to wear pants. I wear shorts and a t-shirt as much as I can. Usually I take off my shirt at home as I get the burning and tingles on my stomach sometimes with a shirt. When I go to church I also have to wear good shoes and that is SO uncomfortable also.

One last question: What does the pants feel like on your body? Is it pain or just irritating like a wool sweater can be on your legs?

Hi everyone, That is why I love this web site soooooo much. Today was another down day for me because I looked at myself in the mirror and thought- yukes! My top has to be loose because of my belly and my skin is exactly like Cindy says- a thousand ants crawling on it. I hate wearing a bra but at work have to and asa I get home- off it comes. My legs also have that feeling with pants over them. In fact, right now I am sitting with shorts on and the legs are tingling but nothing is touching them and it's not too bad. Legs are always heavy. Cindy, I don't do so good without shoes and when I step on something- wow! my foot jumps and at the same time their numb ?!? Barb
