Hi everyone,
I know I don't post much these days so a lot of the new people won't know me. But I've just been told this morning that Kim Diamond, aka Momagirl, passed away yesterday in Auckland NZ. She didn't post much either, but we got to know each other through this website, we provided a lot of support for each other. We ended up working for the same company after she put me in touch with her boss here in Australia, she was the one and only employee in New Zealand. We even got to meet in July last year when she came to Sydney for a conference, it was one of the most amazing weeks I've ever had - to meet someone face to face who actually gets what I've been through, thats something extremely rare and special.
Kim had her 4th surgery 10 days after she returned to NZ in July last year, and had only been able to walk again in the past few months. She called me all excited to tell me about it, and sent me a video clip of her 'in action' on the parrallel bars. In spite of all the chemo and radiation she'd been through, living in a rehab facility, daily workouts with physios and therapists, she still had the biggest smile on her face. People think I'm positive in my approach to life. Let me tell you, I've got NOTHING on Kim, she blew everyone away with how positive she could make the worst news sound. And now shes gone, at the ripe old age of 28.
My one regret is that I didn't get a photo of the two of us together, she didn't like having pictures taken because she was so blown up on steroids and other assorted drugs.
Its been a real privilege to know someone like her, shes someone I'll never ever forget.
RIP Kim, I love you. XXX
