I would love to hear some diagnosis stories from you all. What happened leading up to your diagnosis? I'm searching for answers and having a hard time getting doctors to listen to me over the past year. My body is failing me and I have no idea why. It's getting worse things are happening more frequent now. Over the past year I have had many things going on. It started with changes in my vision that they diagnosed as occular migraines, I had them for a few months then they just vanished. Then I started to have moments when I can see my heartbeat in my vision. My right arm has had numbness and my right ear lobe and the skin in front and just below. I went to the doctor about that they put me on steroids and it seemed to ease it but it's still slightly numb. I have been feeling nauseous in the mornings and I have some pain in my neck and middle of shoulder blades. Anyone experience anything like this? I have an appointment with a neurologist this week. I called when I had the facial numbness and he wants to schedule an MRI.

aprilnicole31, My issues all began with a pain in my hip. Then i had shoulder pain on my right side then it moved to y left shoulder. I worked in the construction field my whole life so i just figured i had a pinched nerve. I woke up one night with burning numb hands(felt extremely dry). I then had some leg numbness and decided to have my "pinched nerve" checked out. My doctor had me get an MRI of my cervical spine and found a white spot at C5-C6. I was sent to a Neurosurgeon at RUSH in Chicago and a week after discovery had it removed. The choice to remove it was based on its effects on my body and function. After surgery(8-10-15) it was determined to be a grade II Astrocytoma and they where able to remove 90% of the tumor. I started physical therapy after surgery to help me get all my strength and function in my legs and shoulders back. I cant stress enough how much therapy helped me get back to normal in as quick of a time frame as possible. I still have some numbness in my legs and hands. My surgeon believes as my nerves heal i will get that feeling back. He did say it could take up to two years. Once my spinal cord healed enough i went through 28 TOMO radiation treatments to help shrink/freeze the tumor and prevent from growing. I just received my 6 month MRI's last week and everything looked good the tumor looks stable and i am getting weened of all my medications. I can function now at about 95% and hopefully i will be back at 100% in the near future. If you have any questions feel free to ask and i will help if i can.
