Hey Boop, I am 49 and had a grade 2 ependy. from C7-T4 resected back in Sept. of 2007. Yes, I know all too well about the pain and most of all, discomfort in the upper back area. I will give you hope, and tell you that if you are physically able, yoga and stretching helped me. It seemed like the more I moved, the better things became. I have relapses where I just want to sit and try to be comfortable, but then I pull myself up and remember to move. Walking, low impact stuff also helps. I even ride my horse (against all doctors' orders). I won't let what happened to me keep me a prisoner from my life, I am middle aged and want to enjoy my life, you can too, try something like swimming also. Hang in there, it WILL get better!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you qhcrazy! I went back to work four hours a day this week and I am beginning to feel a little more loose in the muscles of my upper back. Probably because like you said the extra moving loosens things up. I'm just trying to take things one day at a time at this point
