Hello Ed,
Thanks a lot for passing the info. I am really happy to chat with such smart people. You help me a lot to decide with the doctor that I should deal with. Finally as samuridude sad, it may not work at time of surgery, but at least we have to search for the best before we proceed and leave our self to God. If my surgery succeed I will be so happy, I will accept staples in my skull if this will get rid me of my pain . I am suffering for last 5 years 24/7 from pain. I surrender. I am out of power and I surrender to surgery.
I ask god while reading this forums to give us mercy to heal and live like all our friends and family.
Thanks you Ed, Thank you Samuridude. With all my respect and I wish you the future good health.

"Also, did the NS use D-Wave, MEP muscles, and ESP monitoring during he operation? Or, did the NS use MEP muscles and ESP monitoring only?"
Hey Ed,
I don't know what type of monitoring system they used on me. I didn't even know I had one until my wife found the staples while washing my hair one month post surgery. I didn't have the time to research, my tumor was taken out 24 hours after they found it. I was so sedated that what ever they told me didn't matter, I just wanted the dam thing out of me. I didn't even remember that I had bone taken out until the doctor reminded me a month later during a check up. Yes, I freaked out about that too. I guess they gave me a little extra juice because I freaked out when they tried to catheter me. It took 4 male nurses to stop me from trying to get up to use the toilet.

Samuride
You freak me out by mentioning the catheter. I remembered my first surgery, I keep on pain when it was inserted in me for first 3 days after surgery. I suffered. And finally when the nurse remove it out I was crying like a baby. I felt pain by that time for one and a half month.(day and night/I couldn't sleep night and morning I wake up 5 oclock / that if I could sleep) They screw me up in big size catheter I believe which is not my size I guess. The stupid doc. tell me by the time its good you still have feeling (good sign) but in fact he didn't touch the tumor by that time (cheater). In other side I was searching online and I found something called suprapubic cathethers. It make life easy. I believe that post surgery If my urine nerves will get damage, I will use this technology because I feel am not ready for manual catheter release.
Samuridude, please inform did the urine nerves heal with time? did u get rid of cathether, or you are still using it.is it difficult?
Thanks

Best of luck Peaceandlove! I really hope your surgery will be a success, and the pain and the nightmare of your tumor will be over.

Thanks for replying Samuridude, I read one of your posting where you stated that it was an emergency and they had to operate right a way. I am glad for your sake that they did the surgery when they did.
Thanks, Ed

Hi all,
I am still confused about my situation. I have new tingling in my right foot accompanied by some kind of numbness, it started for four weeks. I feel it mostly during the day. Also, I feel the tingling more when I am wearing shoes. Moreover, for a couple of times I have woken up during the night with my left foot’s three big toes itching like crazy, and no scratching would help it go away. I have never ever had such tingling, numbness and itching in my foot before.
I am still not sure about the signs or deficits that I might expect next. I wonder, when should I definitely decide to go for the surgery?
I know everyone is different, but what other deficits should I expect to appear next?
Also, I have read that the functions you have when you go in surgery is what you hopefully get after surgery. Does that mean that I will still have the tingling or numbness in might right foot?
I would be thankful if anyone on this forum could share their knowledge and experience regarding any of the three questions.
Thanks, Ed

Hey Ed,
They took the catheter out 3 days post. I had to urinate about every hour after that for about 3 months, then I became regular. Prior to surgery the NS told me I would most definitely need to wear a diaper, or self catheter my self. They also said I would have a 20% of ever walking again, I proved them wrong about both. The catheter didn't bother me because I was without much feeling from the pecks down.
-Good health

Dear ed, Don't worry about tingling itching numbness, all will disappear post surgery, sine the tumor which compressing and creating so will b removed. I had and still have all of these symptoms, I felt too electrical shocks and burning sensation and skin sores and redness ...feeling of in grow toe nail.... All this should go if surgeon is good and resect without scratching the nerves. Cheers

Thank you Peaceandlove for the information. It is comforting that some of these sensations will disappear after surgery. Despite the fact that there might be some loss of sensory or motor functions as a result of the surgery.
I have read some your earlier posting and I believe you have a lot of knowledge about SCT, you have asked many important questions, which enriched this forum. Like Albert Enistien once said
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning."
Thanks, ED

Hi samuridude,
I read you were an athlete and fit physically before your surgery last year. I do exercise but am not as fit as I should be. I would be thankful if you could explain whether your physical fitness helped you in the recovery process?
Thanks, Ed
