About 6 months ago I had two grade 2 Ependymomas completely resected. I had radiation therapy in March as well, due to the fact that they could see some potential "seeding nodules" in my lower back. All is well and I have healed great...but...I had an appointment with my oncologist to discuss my upcoming 3 month post radiation/6 month post surgery MRI. She said there is still a 30-50% chance of the recurrence. I am so disappointed by these statistics. I figured since the tumors were completely removed AND I had radiation, that it would be better Now I am really scared for my MRI. I am 24 years old and have never had a single health problem until now and I don't know how to handle it.

Men, doctors and their statistics....
Ependymoma don't generally grow back, but they can and radiotherapy isn't proven effective for ependymoma, we are all just exploring.
I have tumor left still so I don't worry about a regrowth of a new tumor since its still there. I'd say listen to your body and don't get freaked out by what the doc says, they always give the worst possible outcome.
You will be fine chick!!
Oh ya, maybe some counselling could help, but we all get those MRI nerves/anxiety.

I actually healed super well. I had nerve pain in my thighs for about 2 weeks after surgery, but that went away. The only kind of issue I have is numbness in some areas of my right leg that gets sore/prickly sometimes.

I just got the resection operation with my SCT at c6-c7 last Sunday. 100% Tumor was removed, no any problem with the motor but I got the burning sensation at both of my legs. Doctor said that this will subside effect and will get better within a several month. Anyone have an experience about this effect please kind to share with me.

Ye that's neuropathic pain, a lot of us experience it post surgery...
Gabapentin helps, it gets bearable with time
