In order to get to my tumor they had to drill and now my thoracic spine is fused. If I take it easy I am fine but since the surgery there is one area on the upper right hand side of my spine (above the surgery site) and that restricts me from doing to much with out pain. I have tried physical therapy twice and stretching everyday but nothing helps. Leaning over a little at a computer, dishes, exercising and so on I can only do for a short period of time. It feels like a fist pushing through my back. I don't want to be on heavy drugs and my neurosurgeon doesn't see anything wrong with my MRIs. I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be or who I could go to for help. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks! Jen

You can try to cut the nerves (not the motor one, but the one related to the senses) and pain will disappear. I hear some doctors are doing this

My pain management doc injected glucose where the nerves are to kill them. They eventually come back, waiting to get another injection. It worked incredibly well. Good luck.

could you maybe get a second opinion??
when my doctor told me nothing was wrong with me pre diagnosis, i lost all faith in him.
finding the right doctor to treat the pain might be an option, neuro surgeons get excited when they have to operate on the brain/spine, he might be overlooking something.
a year ago when i complained to my surgeon about worsening of symptoms, he looked at the scan and said "hmm on second viewing their is a slight growth in remaining tumor, and you have developed a Swan neck difformity, fusion wont do anything for you at this stage, so best not to fuse yet, you will just have to live with the pain from you deformed neck for now", lol!!
your pain sounds like it could be something else if it is just above your surgery site, could it be that the muscles that were cut didnt heal properly? bad posture?
