Hi Daniel
Haven't been on for a while. I was sorry to hear your story , but don't torture yourself with thoughts of cancer as they are very accurate at diagnosing schwannoma. If there was any doubt you would have an urgent referral. It is not unusual for the schwannomas to grow. Why is it too risky to remove and also deal with disc bulge? Maybe you need to get a second opinion. Scroll up and read Blesseds post as it may be worth you being referred to Manchester, your GP can arrange it.
I have seen a professor here in France who wants to remove mine and cannot understand what surgery was carried out. I will now have to undergo spinal fusion. There us no guarantee that all of it can be removed, but he will try. I trust him.
Best wishes to all of you x

My mind is blown that they won't operate..mine was life and death..my spinal cord was pushed almost completely over when they found mine. It was a dumbell size of 2 kiwis. I had 2 surgeries with a 1 day break in between. 16 hours of surgery..part wrapped around the vertebral artery. They had to leave..i have hardware from c1-c5. I think you need to travel to UNMC in omaha..seriously..mine kept growing..had the most radiation possible..still growing. Mine is 4cm x 2.5cm× 3cm rt now..i guess yours isn't big enough??? You fight for the right care!! I wish i wd have. I know the pain I endured for 9 years till i was finally correctly diagnosed..the pain is no joke. Find another doc...yours risky??? Shit..them docs crazy. This is my 1st post..btw. so happy to have found this blog.
