Hi,
Many thanks to Spinalcordtumor.com, without which I would have felt lost.
My mother recently got an Intradural Extramedullary Tumor surgery(D11). The tumor was calcified and the biopsy report showed it to be benign. The surgery took place on the 18th of March. There were no complications and the surgery was a success. There were no implants necessary. Since then she's been on physiotherapy and does it religiously.
However, it is now about to be three months and she's been having a constant pain and weakness in her legs and also pain at the site of the surgery. She has a tingling sensation in her feet, which I read was a normal occurrence. She was advised to be on meds for a month after which the surgeon asked her to discontinue the same. She still takes the emergency painkillers every now and then to deal with the pain. The surgeon had told us that this pain is normal and subsides in about three months. It will be three months on the 18th of June but there seems to be no improvement in terms of pain. She can walk and do light chores but the pain persists.
It would be great if someone could shed light on when the pain goes away, or if it goes permanently at all. I know it may differ case to case but it would be great to get an idea of what to expect.
Thanks
