Hi, Not much activity in this forum lately. My wife (34y/o) is 3 weeks post-op from a subtotal resection (95%) T7-T8 grade IV Astrocytoma. She is going through much of the "numbness/tingling" often described by others. Has recovered remarkably well from surgery and is walking independently better each day. We are traveling next week to MD anderson for her next phase in therapy. We are not sure if she will be a candidate for proton beam therapy, but expect some form of radiation treatment in conjunction with temodor. We are taking one day at a time and learning to cope with our newly diagnosed reality.

Hello, I am a 35 year-old male, diagnosed with a grade II astrocytoma in my cervical spinal cord a year ago. I had a laminectomy to biopsy the tumor, but no resection was possible. I then had six weeks of radiation with concurrent chemo, which stabilized the tumor. I am now on a 12 month course of chemo with MRIs every two months to monitor. I have developed cysts in the area of the tumor. My main symptoms are numbness on the left side of my body, particularly my leg, and weakness in my hands. I really appreciate the story’s from long-term survivors - they give me hope! I’d love to communicate further with anyone in a similar situation.
