Just a note to say that I get weekly accupuncture and very deep tissue accupressure. I have a wonderful tiny Chinese Dr who has hands of steel . I always feel better after treatment. Wish it could be every other day. My issues are the same always, deep burning, raw feeling in the scapular area (both sides but worse on the left),numbness aching, and pain if I am on my feet too long. (after an hour or so). Does anyone else get accupuncture?

Yes, I get acupuncture as well, and have for over 5 years. Due to the loss of proprioception in my leg, I have to look down a lot when I walk, which causes a lot of strain on my neck and shoulders. My acupuncturist treated it aggressively in the beginning, but now I maintain at ever 3 weeks. I would go more often if I could afford it, but every 3 weeks keeps me out of pain (along with regular massage.) It's a shame that insurance companies do not consider acupuncture a legitimate treatment.
When I first went to see my acupuncturist, my neck was so stiff, I could barely turn it to the right side. He put a few needles in my hands and feet, and I could immediately turn my head all the way to the side again. I have been a believer ever since!
I'm not familiar with deep tissue acupressure, although I've heard of it. How is it different from the acupuncture treatments?
